Exclusive: Samsung Quietly Lists New 60W Charger, Hinting at Galaxy S26 Ultra Upgrade

Publisher: Medussa.NetUpdate: 1970-01-01

For years, Samsung has maintained a ceiling of 45W for wired fast charging across its top-tier flagship phones. However, anticipation is building that the company will finally make the jump to 60W fast charging with the highly anticipated Galaxy S26 Ultra next year.

After years of sticking to 45W, Samsung appears set to boost its flagship charging speeds, with a new 60W Power Adapter spotted on its official website.

Fueling these rumours, a brand-new charger has been silently added to Samsung's own website, strongly suggesting a power upgrade is imminent.

Meet the Samsung 60W Power Adapter

The new device, listed on Samsung’s site, is officially named the 60W Power Adapter and carries the model number EP-T6010. The key technical details confirm a significant step up:

  • Max Output: The adapter delivers a maximum power output of 60W.
  • Port: It features a single USB Type-C port.
  • Efficiency: The adapter boasts extremely low power consumption when idle, drawing just 5mW.

Crucially, the new charger utilizes the USB PD 3.1 PPS (Programmable Power Supply) standard, a newer specification than the USB PD 3.0 PPS used by Samsung’s current 45W chargers. The move to PD 3.1 is necessary to support the higher power delivery necessary for a 60W profile.

Technical Specs: No Special Cable Required

Images of the adapter’s packaging also revealed its operational parameters, designed for smart, variable charging:

  • Variable Voltage: The adapter can deliver a variable voltage between 5V and 20V based on the connected device's power requirements.
  • Current: It can supply a maximum current of 3A.

Significantly, the specifications imply that a standard high-quality USB-C cable will suffice to hit the maximum charging speed, avoiding the need for a proprietary 5A-supported cable typically required for speeds exceeding 60W (like some competitors).

Why the S26 Ultra is the Target

All evidence points toward the Galaxy S26 Ultra being the primary candidate for this new charging standard.

The jump from 45W to 60W is a logical progression for Samsung, aligning the company more closely with competitor charging speeds without adopting the ultra-high (100W+) standards that often introduce trade-offs in battery longevity and heat management.

The appearance of the EP-T6010 on Samsung's official website suggests that manufacturing and certification are already underway, setting the stage for a flagship launch that promises to deliver better battery replenishment times for its users.
